Matthew Wilmarth, 17, of Simi Valley, a passenger in the same car, received facial cuts and possibly broken arm and face bones, CHP Officer Jerry Reisinger said.

Wilmarth, who was airlifted to Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo and then was transferred to Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Woodland Hills, left Pleasant Valley in satisfactory condition. Lee Morgan, nursing supervisor at Pleasant Valley, would not confirm the nature of Wilmarth’s injuries.

The car’s third passenger, Christopher Kellogg, 18, also of Simi Valley, was listed in critical condition at Los Robles with a broken back, dislocated right arm, bruises and scratches, Reisinger said.

The driver of the car, Dawn Vanderzwaag, 17, of Simi Valley was treated and released at Los Robles. Vanderzwaag was not wearing a seat belt.

Three people in a pickup involved in the crash were taken to Simi Valley Hospital and Health Services, complaining of pains. Treated and released were driver Renea Blank, 22, Dewayne Gray II, 9, and Ruben Vera, 20, all of the same residence in Camarillo, Reisinger said.

Larry White, 49, of Northridge, the driver of the third car, was treated and released at Los Robles.

The Oldsmobile, driven by Vanderzwaag, was rounding a curve too fast on Moorpark Road, which has a speed limit of 35 m.p.h., Reisinger said. The car ran off the road and then crossed into oncoming traffic and struck the left side of a pickup, he said.

Vanderzwaag’s car then spun around and hit broadside a Dodge Dynasty, driven by White.
