PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Run-and-Shoot Sends Greene Back to End
Kevin Greene will temporarily move back to defensive end this week to rush the Atlanta Falcons’ four-wideout run-and-shoot offense.
“It’s no secret,” said defensive coordinator Jeff Fisher, “(Greene) is going to rush the passer from the left-end spot, and that’s all he’s going to do.”
Greene, who played the first four games of the season at right end, has played the last two at left linebacker--primarily because the two opponents, the Raiders and San Diego Chargers, are running teams.
Wide receiver Flipper Anderson, out since Sept. 22 with a broken vertebrae in his lower back, returned to light practice Wednesday, but did not wear pads. He is definitely out for Sunday’s game in Atlanta.
Linebacker Brett Faryniarz, who has missed the last two games with a sore left knee, returned to full-contact practice but also isn’t expected to play Sunday.
No. 1 draft choice Todd Lyght practiced full speed Wednesday and is expected to see a lot of action Sunday.
