A fatal shooting at an Ontario truck stop led to an hourlong freeway tie-up during the capture of the suspect, police said.

Ontario Police Detective Mike Cormican said the suspect and the victim got in an argument at the Beacon Truck Stop when, for reasons still not clear, the suspect pulled out a shotgun and shot the other man. The identity of the victim, a 30-year old man, was unknown.

The suspect, identified as Darrel T. Jordan, 50, fled in his 18-wheel semi rig but was spotted and stopped about 10 minutes later on the Pomona Freeway in Montclair by Ontario police.

California Highway Patrol officers closed down the freeway at Central Avenue, causing a rush-hour tie-up several miles long while the arrest was made.
