Two men wearing ski masks, gloves and dark clothing tied up the crew of a fast-food restaurant in El Cajon early Saturday, took an undetermined amount of cash and then fled in a stolen car, police said.

The suspects broke into the Burger King in the 800 block of North Johnson Avenue shortly after 6 a.m. and waited for the crew to arrive, a spokeswoman for the El Cajon Police Department said.

Two women who worked at the restaurant were confronted by the suspects, who were hiding and armed with what police called “Rambo-style” knives.

The suspects ordered the woman who managed the restaurant to open the safe, stealing all of the money inside and her wallet.

Before leaving, the suspects tied up the women’s hands and feet with rope, during which a third employee arrived, realized what was happening and ran to a nearby McDonald’s to telephone police.

Before police could arrive, the suspects drove away in the manager’s 1989 Ford Mustang.

Police are looking for two white males, both described as being in their early 20s. One is said to be 6-foot-2, with a muscular build, and the other is about 5-foot-7, 165 pounds with a stocky build.
