Three eligible players have already re-signed with their current teams. Shortstop Shawon Dunston received a four-year, $12-million contract from the Chicago Cubs; outfielder John Kruk received a three-year, $7.2-million contract from the Philadelphia Phillies, and catcher Mickey Tettleton agreed to a reported three-year, $8.5-million deal with the Detroit Tigers.

Eligible players have 15 days to file. They can talk with interested clubs during that period but can not discuss finances with any club except their own until the filing period ends.
