Eighth-seeded Heather Willens of Stanford defeated qualifier Mandy Wilson of Tennessee, 6-2, 6-4, to advance to the finals of the All-American Championships at Riviera Country Club.
The other semifinal match between unseeded Cinda Gurney of North Carolina and fifth-seeded Paloma Collantes of Mississippi was suspended because of rain with Gurney leading, 2-0, in the first set.
Weather permitting, the Gurney-Collantes match will be completed today with the winner meeting Willens for the championship later in the day.
The doubles semifinals also were postponed Saturday and will be played today with the winners then meeting for the championship.
