Michael Miller May Return to Irish

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Michael Miller, the speedy freshman who left Notre Dame because of constant comparisons to Rocket Ismail, may return to play for the Fighting Irish, according to a report.

But Houston football Coach John Jenkins refuted the report, saying Miller was doing well at Houston, which he is attending on a track scholarship. Miller is from nearby Sugar Land, Tex.

A relative of Miller contacted Notre Dame on his behalf, and school spokesman John Heisler said Sunday that “it’s not a simple thing to determine what could happen.”

Miller’s eligibility must be determined by the school and NCAA.

Miller left Notre Dame two days after the Irish lost to Michigan, 24-14, on Sept. 14.

“The pressure there was horrible,” Miller, a 5-foot-7, 165-pound receiver and kick returner said at the time. “I don’t know where I will play football. I missed home.”
