COLLEGE FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : USC : No Trojan Love Lost in Berkeley

Tailback Russell White of Cal, who will play against USC Saturday at Berkeley, has voiced his opinion of the Trojans in the past.

He hates them.

“And I think I hate SC more than Russell does,” quarterback Mike Pawlawski told Bay Area reporters this week. “That . . . song gets on my nerves, and I hate the horse.

“You know how some people have an aversion to dairy products? Well, I have an aversion like that to USC.”

Pawlawski, who grew up in Yorba Linda and played at Troy High in Fullerton, said he realized his aversion when he was 4 and watching a USC game on television with several family members, all of them Trojan fans.

“I couldn’t believe they were related to me,” he said.
