Prep Player Hospitalized With Blood Clot
Laguna Beach quarterback Trigg Garner was admitted to the Critical Care Unit at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center Friday and diagnosed as having a blood clot in his left shoulder, according to his father.
Laguna Beach teammate Eric Fegraus said Garner, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound junior, was shooting baskets in the Laguna Beach gym Friday during physical education class when his left arm began swelling.
Garner entered the hospital Friday afternoon and will remain for three to five days, his father said.
“The doctors want to keep him for some tests,” Jeff Garner said. “He’s watching the Lakers right now, so he’s feeling fine.
Garner, who had completed 50% of his passes for 1,092 yards--seventh best in the county--is out for the season, his father said. Laguna Beach played Costa Mesa Friday night.
