The following two candidates were inadvertently left out of listings of school board candidates in Thursday’s San Gabriel section. Seven other candidates also are running in Charter Oak.

Charter Oak Unified

3 seats

Ram C. Mukherji, 50, engineer and USC professor, founding member of group that recalled board members in 1986.

Believes being a professor gives him a “future view” of the educational system and his financial and industrial engineering background will help him make sound decisions. Wants resources to be directed so that the majority of students benefit.

“We need to run the school district like a corporation making profit.”

Joseph M. Probst, 46, six-year incumbent, speech communication professor at Pasadena City College.

Wants a fourth-year English requirement for vocational students to strengthen their skills. Credits current board for district’s sound financial footing.

“It’s been an exciting program.”
