California IN BRIEF : SAN DIEGO : Broderick Testifies in 2nd Murder Trial

A woman on trial for the second time in the deaths of her ex-husband and his second wife has told jurors that her husband said she was insane when she first suspected that he was having an affair. She said he later admitted to an affair with his young office assistant, whom he married after the couple divorced in 1986. Broderick has acknowledged that she shot Daniel Broderick III, and his wife, Linda Kolkena Broderick, at their home but says the violence was the result of psychological abuse that began during her marriage and continued through the subsequent divorce and child-custody battles.
