Animation Prize: “Two Sisters,” described as a short animated film about two sisters on a faraway island that tells a sensitive story akin to live-action filmmaking, was named grand prize winner at the fourth Los Angeles International Animation Celebration Thursday night. Writer-director-animator Caroline Leaf accepted the $2,000 award from “Simpson’s” creator Matt Groening, for whom the prize was named. The 10-minute film was produced by the National Film Board of Canada.
