Disney Running Out of ‘Fantasia’ Videocassettes: Retailers’ stock of Disney’s “Fantasia,” the 1940 feature combining animation and classical music, is dwindling fast and, according to Disney Home Video, there will be problems filling new orders. Making new copies won’t be easy, Disney spokesman Steven Feldstein said, because “Fantasia,” with its special audio track--dubbed Fanta-Sound--requires time-consuming rewiring of the duplicating facility and a special duplicating technology. Early last week, 9.25 million tapes, both the basic $24.99 and the deluxe $99.99 editions, were shipped to retail outlets. But the long-awaited cassette is selling much faster than expected. Disney has received reorders totaling over a million copies. As of Wednesday, it was accepting no more orders.
