Jesus Jones’ “Right Here, Right Now” could very possibly be the anthem for the MTV Generation, said Lauren Lazin. “It’s about living in the present,” she said. “If there’s any strong message in this show, it’s that there is a nostalgia being imposed on this generation for a past they don’t even relate to.”

Those who are sick of trying to relate to 20-year-old songs by the Who, the Stones and the Beatles, take heart: “MTV Generation’s’ music was chosen with its young audience in mind. “We made a point of interviewing people about what songs they like from right now, what songs they listen to and think, ‘Hey, that’s me!’,” said Lazin. “Music is always a really, really strong thing in our shows. We always joke that we present social issues you can dance to.”
