Trash Worker in Critical Condition
A 28-year-old worker for a trash company remained in critical condition Thursday after a trash truck ran over him, police said.
Jesus Berber Reyes of Orange suffered internal injuries and is in an emergency ward at UCI Medical Center in Orange, hospital official said.
About 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, Reyes--who works at Orange Disposal Service Inc., 1932 N. Batavia St.--tried to jump onto the side of a company truck but slipped and fell, Police Sgt. Jim Pyne said. One of the truck’s front wheels ran over him.
Orange Disposal is a private company that contracts with the city. The truck’s driver was not cited, Pyne said.
