2 Teen-Agers Arrested in Slaying of Man, 28
Two teen-age gang members from Pacoima have been arrested in the fatal shooting of a rival gang member, San Fernando police said Monday.
Daniel Loya, 28, of San Fernando died Sunday about 5:30 p.m., said Lt. Ernest Halcon. Loya was pronounced dead at the scene in the 700 block of Coronel Street in San Fernando, Halcon said.
Police arrested Gilbert David Vanegas and Armando Peralta, both 19 and of Pacoima, in connection with the slaying. Both were being held at the San Fernando Jail on suspicion of murder for Loya’s death and of attempted murder for firing at his companion, who escaped without injury, Halcon said.
