Marlon Brando’s daughter, Cheyenne, checked into a hospital in Tahiti Tuesday after being flown to the French Pacific island to face charges of being an accomplice to the slaying of her lover in Los Angeles.

Investigating magistrate Max Gatti told journalists that he wanted to give Brando’s daughter a chance to rest before answering questions. She has repeatedly tried suicide and is said to be suffering from severe depression.

After being flown to Tahiti in a French military plane, she was driven to the Mamao regional hospital center, where she was placed under police guard.

The 21-year-old Brando was arrested Friday near Orleans in France after a judge reopened a probe into the killing of Dag Drollet last year at Marlon Brando’s mansion. Her half-brother, Christian Brando, is serving a 10-year prison sentence for voluntary manslaughter.
