The national teams of Mexico and Costa Rica played to a 1-1 tie Wednesday night at the Coliseum.
Alberto Garcia gave Mexico a 1-0 lead two minutes into the game when he took a centering pass from Guillermo Munoz after a free kick. Garcia headed the ball past Costa Rican goalie Jorge Hidalgo.
Costa Rica struck back with one minute left in the half when Claudio Jara centered the ball to Roger Gomez, who drilled a shot to the right of Mexico’s Jorge Campos.
