Three men were found shot to death inside a View Park-area home Friday afternoon in what sheriff’s deputies initially ruled a double murder and suicide.

Deputies were called to the two-story brick home in the quiet upscale neighborhood by a son of one of the slain men who had found blood upon entering the home in the 4000 block of Olympiad Drive shortly after 4 p.m.

All three victims had been shot and were dead at the scene, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Larry Lincoln. One was in the living room, one was in a wet-bar area and one was in the study. A .38-caliber revolver was found next to the man in the study, in a position that led investigators to believe he took his own life.

None of the victims were immediately identified. Property records show that the house, with a three-foot black iron fence surrounding the grounds, had been sold by a bank to an investment company one week ago.

Sheriff’s investigators said there were no indications of previous trouble at the house, and no motive had yet been established.

“Oh my God!” one neighbor shouted when she heard what had happened.

She described the family living in the home as “very nice people, well spoken and friendly.” The neighbor, who did not want to be identified, said, “There was never any hint of any problems there.”
