ODDS AND ENDS

Jumped schools: The most famous athlete at the Glendale-Dana Hills game was in the stands. Former Olympic high jumper Dwight Stones, a graduate of Glendale in 1972, was in attendance. Stones came wearing his letterman’s jacket. However, he sat on the Dana Hills side of the field. It proved to be a smart move: Dana Hills 28, Glendale 7.

Attention Ralph Nader: The 20-page programs for the Mater Dei-Fontana playoff game sold for $4 if you were lucky enough to find one. Mater Dei Athletic Director Gary McKnight said only 600 were printed for a game that drew 9,500.
