All five starters return from last year’s third-place team, so Brown is optimistic. “We have a mission to win league this season, but we have to win one game at a time.” Leading the Sonora attack is the backcourt duo of Donadio, who averaged 18 points per game, and Chris Nonis, who averaged 15. Both earned first-team all-league honors last season, and both are strong three-point shooters. Chris Nonis averaged three three-point baskets per game last season. The other returning starters are Crowther and Tabatabaee, both honorable mention all-league players last season, and Fister, the team’s leading rebounder. Brown also feels Delavera, although only a freshman, will make a significant impact after averaging eight points per game during summer league. “Last year we were a new team with a new coach and new players,” Brown said. “But we lost no one to graduation, and this year there is a unity; everyone will contribute.”
