El Cajon police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman who was struck by a car on Fletcher Parkway after running across the street.
The woman was walking down Fletcher Parkway near Chatham Street just before 8 p.m. Tuesday when she suddenly ran across two lanes of traffic, an El Cajon police spokeswoman said.
The driver, Shawn Paul of Spring Valley, swerved in an attempt to avoid hitting the woman, police said. Paul was uninjured.
The woman was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where police said she has not spoken. A hospital spokeswoman said the woman’s condition was unavailable.
The woman is described as white, 45 to 50 years old and weighing 125 pounds. She has collar-length brown hair and braces on her teeth. At the time of the accident, she was wearing a light blue, long-sleeved sweat shirt, gray sweat pants and white tennis shoes.
