Commercial Break Needed
I am sick and disgusted with the way television stations treat their viewers. Movies are badly cut; only a lifeless skeleton remains. The venerable production “Stage” (A&E;, Nov. 19), hosted by Stacey Keach, actually had scenes cut from the opera “I Pagliacci.” It’s not a long opera, but one particularly beautiful choral arrangement went with the wind to make way for a commercial.
Will a station ever say, “We now join the football/baseball/basketball/hockey game already in progress?” Will these prolonged sports events cut their pregame and postgame chats? Why not? I demand equal time! How much further is this going to go? I guess it’s time to turn off the set and find a good book. Uncut.
