COUNTYWIDE : Showers Bring Only Minor Rainfall

A spattering of showers Tuesday was expected to continue through this morning, with clearing skies this afternoon, National Weather Service meteorologist Terry Schaeffer said.

“We’ll be lucky if we get a quarter-inch of rain out of this,” said Schaeffer, who operates the service’s Santa Paula weather station.

Temperatures were expected to warm into the low to mid-70s by Thursday, with clear skies predicted the rest of the week, Schaeffer said.

The light rainfall did little to wet dry county soil, Ventura County Agricultural Commissioner Earl McPhail said.

“This is not enough to even put off a day of irrigation,” he said. “All it did was clear the air.”
