Raider defensive end Howie Long, who has strained left knee ligaments, was upgraded Thursday from out to doubtful for Monday night’s game in New Orleans. Long practiced Thursday.

Wide receiver Sam Graddy (ankle) and safety Elvis Patterson (groin) are questionable, and defensive end A.J. Jimmerson (knee) and guard Steve Wisniewski (knee) are out.

Saint quarterback Bobby Hebert (shoulder) is questionable; safety Gene Atkins (shoulder), tackle Richard Cooper (shoulder) and linebacker Sam Mills (knee) are probable, and tackle Kevin Haverdink (back), cornerback Reggie Jones (shoulder) and guard Chris Port (ankle) are out.

Raider punter Jeff Gossett leads the AFC with a net average of 38.5 yards. He has sent 21 kicks inside the opponents’ 20-yard line. . . . Kicker Jeff Jaeger leads the AFC in scoring with 113 points, making 26 of 27 extra points and 29 of 33 field goals. . . . Safety Ronnie Lott leads the NFL with eight interceptions.
