Rapid Heartbeat Sends Detroit Mayor to Hospital

DETROIT —
Mayor Coleman Young was hospitalized Friday after his doctor detected a rapid heartbeat during a regular office visit.
The problem was found during a routine electrocardiogram, said Dr. Claud Young, the mayor’s physician and cousin. The mayor, 73, is undergoing tests.
