Vandals Cause $4,000 in Damage to School

Vandals smashed windows and glass, causing more than $4,000 damage at a Newhall school, authorities said Monday.

Three glass doors and 19 windows in the multipurpose room of Valley View Elementary School in the Sulphur Springs Union School District were damaged, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Morton of the Santa Clarita Valley substation.

The vandalism at the school on Sierra Estates Drive took place during the weekend. No one has been arrested, Morton said.

Vandals also did $280 worth of damage to Sunnydale School in Lancaster during the weekend, breaking three windows and painting graffiti on a climbing wall in a school obstacle course, said Sheriff’s Sgt. Joseph Dymerski. No one has been arrested, he said.
