SAN CLEMENTE : Police Team Targets Drunk Drivers
The Police Department will crack down on drunk drivers this holiday season with a special enforcement team, Chief Albert C. Ehlow said this week.
The team will begin hitting the streets of San Clemente today to seek out and arrest drunk drivers.
The department recommends that people who are planning to drink use taxis or a designated driver program while they are out.
“Under current law, a person can be arrested and prosecuted if they have .08% alcohol in their blood,” Ehlow said. “For most people, that is the consumption of two cocktails. We hope that all of those who do drink during the holidays will do so wisely and make it a safe holiday season for everyone.”
