Flight Revisions: In the third shuffle of commuter carrier schedules at John Wayne Airport this month, WestAir Holding Inc., operator of United Express commuter airline, said it will eliminate all five of its daily flights between Orange County and Los Angeles International Airport by Feb. 13. Mark Peterson, spokesman for the Fresno-based airline, said that United Express will add one additional daily flight from Orange County to Fresno on that date. In addition to the Los Angeles flights, United Express makes four daily round-trip flights from Orange County to San Francisco and Oakland, using 90-passenger jets. The carrier also has three daily departures to Fresno and flies four times daily from Fresno to Orange County. The Fresno and Los Angeles flights use 19-passenger turboprop airplanes. Peterson said WestAir decided to eliminate its Orange County-Los Angeles shuttle because “there is less call for that service now that there are more business destinations available directly from Orange County.”
