Identity of Shooting Victim, 26, Released
A man shot to death in Lakeside this week was identified by the county coroner’s office Thursday as Ruben Chaira Vazquez.
Vazquez, 26, who had no known address or next of kin, died of gunshot wounds in the head suffered in an attack that occurred Tuesday off California 67 near Slaughterhouse Canyon Road, the coroner’s office said.
A witness said he saw three people leave the area in a maroon Chevrolet Camaro shortly after a man was shot west of San Vicente Reservoir, according to a Sheriff’s Department spokesman.
