Hollywood : Tree Planting Planned
As many as 1,000 trees will be planted in Hollywood’s residential neighborhoods in the coming months.
Under the Hollywood Neighborhood Improvement Community Effort program, 22 Chinese flame trees already have been planted on Leland Way by the Los Angeles Conservation Corps, Hollywood Sentinels neighborhood group and other Hollywood residents.
That event was the third in a series of tree plantings under the auspices of the NICE program, which is sponsored by the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency. All the trees will be planted in neighborhoods within the Hollywood redevelopment area, and area residents will be asked to help, CRA officials said.
