COSTA MESA : Public Sessions to Be Held on 1992 Budget

Share

The City Council will hold public sessions Saturday and Monday to discuss the fiscal 1992 budget.

With a revenue shortfall of $2.1 million so far this fiscal year, city officials said spending is likely to be curtailed even further for fiscal 1992. A committee of city employees and residents met last month to come up with solutions to close the budget gap but made no specific suggestions.

In the Saturday and Monday sessions, the council will review the committee’s work and try to come up with suggestions on whether to maintain current levels of service, make cuts in some areas or find other revenue sources.

Saturday’s meeting at the Neighborhood Community Center begins at 9 a.m. and is scheduled to end at 5 p.m. The council will then reconvene the budget session after its regular study session on Monday at 4 p.m. in the fifth-floor conference room at City Hall.
