Children Discover Dead Man in Car
A group of children skateboarding in Madison Park on Sunday morning discovered the body of a man in the back seat of a car who had apparently been stabbed to death, police said.
“Some kids were skateboarding and they just happened to look in the back seat and the guy was all bloody with stab wounds in the neck and everywhere else,” Sgt. Dave Petko said, describing the gruesome discovery.
Police had not released the identity of the victim late Sunday.
Petko said one group of children called police after discovering some bloody clothing, a knife and some keys in a dumpster. Then, at about 11:30 a.m., another group of children reported that they spotted the man in the back seat of a car parked in the 1000 block of Occidental Street. The abandoned car was across the street from the park at Edison and Standard streets.
The man appears to have died from multiple stab wounds to the head and torso, Petko said. Police had no suspects and no motive for the killing late Sunday, he said.
