KNOW YOUR FOOD: If you would like to know what’s in your food, a lot of Orange County restaurants now tell you. Nearly 100 county eating establishments have agreed to participate in Accent on Health’s healthy dining project. . . . Menus with choices such as the one above, from Antonello’s of Santa Ana, will include nutritional details about what’s on your plate. . . . “We’re asking they give out at least one of the health menus at each table,” says Anita Jones of the sponsoring group, which will soon publish “Healthy Dining in Orange County.”

Eating Healthy

Menus at many local restaurants will soon be offering the nutritional details of healthful dishes. Here’s a sample item. Halibut alle Cinque Erbe Northern Halibut with 5 herbs Calories: Low Fat: Low (mostly unsaturated fat) Cholesterol: Very low Sodium: Very low if you request no added salt. NOTE: Chef uses 1/2 oz. oil instead of 1 oz. on “Healthy Version.”
