Homicide detectives are investigating the death of an unidentified man whose body was discovered Tuesday in a drainage culvert in downtown San Diego, police said.
A Caltrans employee found the man about 10:30 a.m. in the culvert on the west side of 11th Avenue were it feeds into California 163, an area frequented by transients, police said.
The victim was described as white, 40 to 50 years old, with gray hair and a beard, and dressed in a long-sleeved shirt, jeans and brown boots.
The cause of death has not been released, nor has the man’s identity.
