1 Killed, 1 Injured in Accidents
A teen-ager was killed and a Whittier woman injured in unrelated traffic accidents Saturday morning in El Toro and Orange.
David Cordero, 18, of Santa Ana was killed at 2:20 a.m. when his Honda motorcycle crashed into a tree on El Toro Road east of Trabuco Road, a California Highway Patrol spokesperson said. Cordero was westbound when he missed a curve and ran over a curb.
Four hours later, Elaine Daniel, 33, skidded off the Riverside Freeway at Glassell Street in Orange, the spokesperson said.
Daniel was westbound when her car swerved off the road and down an eight-foot embankment along the Santa Ana River. The car slid for 250 feet and flipped over, landing on its roof. Daniel was listed in stable condition at UCI Medical Center.
