An 83-year-old man hanged himself Monday from a bridge in Chula Vista, police said.
Ralph Holman Bramwell, a retired mechanic from Chula Vista, was found hanging by a rope from a bridge on the first block of North 2nd Avenue by two joggers about 10:30 a.m., Lt. David Miller of the Chula Vista Police Department said.
The joggers told police they saw Bramwell atop the bridge about 10:20 a.m. holding a rope, Miller said. About 10 minutes later, when they jogged back in that direction, the men saw Bramwell suspended by a rope from the bridge, which runs over a drainage ditch, Miller said.
