SAN CLEMENTE — A 21-year-old man was arrested by police on suspicion of shooting his father during a family disturbance Monday, police said.
James Chrispner, 54, was shot once in the left arm with a .45-caliber handgun, Police Sgt. Russell Moore said. Police responded to the Chrispner residence about 5:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Calle del Cerrito.
Chrispner’s son, Brett Chrispner, was taken into custody. Police did not know what caused the disturbance, Moore said.
Chrispner was taken to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, where he was in fair condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Moore said an unidentified person dialed 911 to report the shooting.
