ROSEBURG, Ore. —
A bus carrying a tree-planting crew plunged off a logging road and down a 300-foot embankment Friday, killing one person and seriously injuring two others, authorities said.
The bus was carrying 11 people to a U.S. Bureau of Land Management reforestation site when it ran off the road, a spokesman said. Fog, roadway conditions and speed may have contributed to the accident.
