Occidental College received double-figure scoring from five players Thursday to fuel an 97-87 upset of host Cal Lutheran in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men’s basketball game.

Jeff deLaveaga scored a game-high 39 points for Cal Lutheran (11-10, 7-2 in conference play) on 12-of-28 shooting. However, Occidental (8-12, 2-7) had enough balance to offset that performance.

Errol Garnett (22 points), Blair Slattery (22), Jeff Muir (19), Dimitris Markopoulos (18) and Hung Duong (14) each scored in double figures for the Tigers.
