DANA POINT : Funds Allocated for New City Hall Space

Share

The City Council this week allocated $126,326 for furniture and improvements for the upcoming addition of 3,678 square feet of office space at City Hall.

With the new space, which is expected to be in place by mid-March, the city will be able to expand its Community Development Department and create additional room for the city archives, the Finance Department and Orange County Sheriff’s Department deputies and volunteers, said Barbara L. Healy, the city’s administrative coordinator. The new space will bring the city’s temporary headquarters to about 13,678 square feet, Healy said.

“Right now, we have employees doubling up and sharing offices, plus we don’t have enough storage,” Healy said. “This just gives everyone their own office or work space.”

Last October, the city signed a new five-year lease at its temporary headquarters, at 33282 Street of the Golden Lantern, Healy said. The city paid $2.20 per square foot for the offices, including the additional square footage.
