Dead Infant Found in Lancaster Trash Bin
A newborn infant’s body was found Sunday wrapped in plastic inside a trash dumpster behind a Quartz Hill apartment complex, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
Homicide detectives were investigating the site in the 4200 block of West Avenue L in the Lancaster community, Deputy Mary Landreth said.
The body was found about 11:15 a.m. by a person searching the dumpster for aluminum cans, Landreth said.
The baby’s parents have not been located, she said, and authorities were still trying to determine the cause of the infant’s death.
