* Kenneth Lemberger has been promoted to vice chairman of TriStar Pictures, a division of Culver City-based Sony Pictures.

Lemberger will oversee day-to-day activities of the company, which last year released “Hook” and “Bugsy,” among other films. He will report to TriStar Chairman Mike Medavoy.

Lemberger previously served as senior executive vice president of TriStar. He joined the parent company, then known as Columbia Picture Entertainment, as senior counsel in 1979.
