The Philadelphia 76ers’ Jayson Williams has been suspended for two games and fined $10,000 by the NBA for fighting during a game against the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday night.
He was penalized for leaving the bench, coming onto the court and punching J.R. Reid in the head, said Rod Thorn, NBA vice president of operations.
Reid was fined $7,500 for throwing several punches.
Charles Barkley of the 76ers was fined $2,000 for tossing the ball at Reid, and six players were fined $500 apiece for leaving their benches during the incident.
