Four San Diego children on their way to school Monday were injured when they were struck by a car that ran a red light, police said.

The children, all Kennedy Elementary School students, were at Imperial Avenue and 47th Street about 7:40 a.m. when a car going about 35 m.p.h. ran the red light and hit them, said Bill Robinson, a San Diego Police Department spokesman.

Marcos Anderson, 9, and Elishama Harris, 7, were taken to Children’s Hospital with neck injuries. They were reported in fair condition Monday night. Abiyah Harris, 8, and Horace Payton, 10, were taken to Paradise Valley Hospital for treatment and released.
