LOS ANGELES : 2 Boys Were Not Intended Victims of Drive-By Attack

Two boys wounded in a gang drive-by shooting in Los Angeles were not the intended victims of the attack, police said Monday.
Some reports had indicated that the boys, ages 7 and 9, had been intentionally fired on Saturday night as they played in front of an apartment building in the 6100 block of 11th Avenue.
But Lt. Bruce Hagerty said that a rival gang member, believed to be the target of the shooting, also had been standing outside the building. The suspects drove by, shouted a gang slogan and fired six or seven shots, Hagerty said. The children remained in serious condition Monday.
