THOUSAND OAKS : Tips on Missing Woman Studied
Sheriff’s investigators on Monday sifted through tips from the public on the disappearance of a Thousand Oaks woman who has been missing for about a week.
Nancy L. Huter, 36, was last seen March 3, between 2:30 and 3 p.m. at a fast-food restaurant in Canoga Park. Her white Honda Accord hatchback was found Saturday morning on Mulholland Highway near Malibu Creek State Park.
Detective Ernie Montagna said Huter’s car was being examined by the sheriff’s crime lab in Ventura.
Helicopters, dogs and search teams scoured the state park last weekend, but could not find any clues as to her whereabouts, Montagna said.
“We had just about everyone out there,” he said.
Authorities plan a more detailed search of Malibu Creek when the water level, swollen by recent rains, goes down, he said.
Huter, an ad saleswoman in the San Fernando Valley, is a Jehovah’s Witness. Montagna said she had business and church appointments scheduled for last Tuesday, including “some meetings Tuesday night.”
