Promoter Don King announced that Julio Cesar Chavez, winner of all 78 of his pro fights, will fight Hector Camacho (40-0) but no date or site for the fight was announced.
However, Chavez is tied up in arbitration over a $15-million contract he signed in 1990 with King’s rival, Bob Arum. Chavez accepted a $300,000 signing bonus from Arum, then changed his mind. He returned the $300,000 check to Arum, who sent it back.
“King absolutely cannot schedule Chavez to fight anyone until the arbitration is finished,” Arum said.
