COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Titans Sweep Long Beach in Softball

Marci White had five hits, leading No. 10 Cal State Fullerton to a doubleheader sweep of Cal State Long Beach in Big West Conference women’s softball Wednesday at Fullerton.

In the Titans’ 3-0 victory in the first game, White was three for three, with two doubles and two runs scored. White was two for three and Denise DeWalt was two for two and scored a run in the second game, which the Titans won, 1-0.

Tiffany Boyd (7-4) pitched a five-hitter, striking out 10 in the first game. Cheryl Longeway pitched a six-hitter in the second game as the Titans improved to 12-8, 3-1. The 49ers are 11-12, 2-4.

In the Rebel Spring Games:

Chapman Wins Two--Laura Papadakis singled in Christy Wurster in the bottom of the first inning as the Panthers defeated Regis, 1-0, in their first game of the day in Orlando, Fla. Papadakis was two for three and drove in two runs as Chapman, ranked 13th in Division II, topped 13th-ranked California (Pa.), 3-2, later in the day.
