Man, 20, Dies of Wounds From Shooting Near East Compton Park

A 20-year-old man died Sunday from wounds suffered in drive-by shooting in unincorporated county territory near Compton, authorities said.
The shooting occurred about 6:30 p.m. near East Compton Park at Atlantic Avenue and Compton Boulevard and is believed to be gang-related, said Deputy Larry Mead of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim was not identified pending notification of his relatives, Mead said.
A man authorities did not identify was detained for questioning, and three others were sought in the shooting, Mead said.
The victim died at Charter Suburban Hospital in Paramount, officials said.
